We are in the works of launching our new AoS website that brings you the details from our client appointments! We are calling them case studies so be on the look out! We have the most specific requests from our clients and we can only imagine if one person has that fashion challenge there is someone else out there that does as well. We keep our clients details private, but the task was to build a work wardrobe with $2000. Less special pieces, more focus on abundance. Curvy body and fluctuates weight. As stylist we always try everything on in our size before giving it to the client so we know how the merchandise will fit. Below is the feedback from our fit session. Click the images of the actual clothing pieces to be taken to the direct link to purchase. White House Black Market
This blouse is one of my favorites!! It reminds me of a Frame one I loved earlier in the year, but at 1/3 of the price! Wearing a Medium. Runs true to size. I am a 36DD
Duster Cardigan runs large – size down (one in picture is from WHBM in a Small, but the linked J.Jill is better)
I went four places today finding a black trouser for my curvy client. White House Black Market was the score for bottoms! Wearing size 12 but would have purchased the 10. The pockets and closure make this a great option for women whoo fluctuate or carry their weight through their mid section.
Loved this feminine play on masquline vs. feminine prints! Of course a solid black or white shirt would be brilliant as well, but the print mixing brought the look to life!
Blouse Size Medium – Love the versatility with the bow. We wanted the bow on the pant belt, so we did a small knot and tucked it back into my jacket. Brilliant! Another way is to wear or cropped cardi and obi sash belt and change the blouse bow to hang in front.
Blazer Size 10 – which I was surprised because I am generally broad
Plaid Trouser – more of a narrow cut, I needed a 12 (wearing a 14 so a little baggy in the crouch)
Totally LOVED this jacket but this defiantly is a splurge piece. I linked a similar one, same color which was the most important thing, but a little edgier style.
Jacket wearing a large – would have liked to try the medium, but did not have it in store.
Under Pinnings – Comes in black and white but this is the bomb! Love the v-neck line and that there are no pockets. Wearing a Medium
Same trouser as up above – Size 12
The perfect year round skirt. Scene here for summer, or back with cashmere and over the knee boots come winter.
Top (shown in white above) wearing a medium
Skirt wearing a medium
Belt wearing a small/x-small
Gap
Throughout my trouser hunt for the curvy- weight fluctuating gal- Gap had the skinny bi-stretch winner. Do not be fooled though. There was only one cut that fit. The others I could not even get up over my hips!! Click the images to see the fit.
Top – THE MUST HAVE OF THE SEASON!!! A closet staple. Ultra soft. Comes in 4 colors (yes you need them all) and under $30!
Trouser – Wearing a size 12 the 10 fit, but was too snug in the booty for my junk in the trunk.
Ann Taylor
This wrap dresses has been my favorite since it came out and now it is on super sale!! Snatch it in your size before it is gone! Brilliant wrinkle resistant for travel! Wearing a 12. Could have taken a 10, but full chested.
Such an office appropriate funky color combo! This is the Devin cut trouser which is not as good for those that carry their weight in the mid section as it is a mid rise. The Kate which is what I linked and pulled for the client also comes in this color (online exclusive) and is a higher rise. Wearing a size 12 in the Devin and size 10 in the Kate. Because of the mid rise I had to size up for the Devin and it caused that crotch wrinkle affect that no one has time for.
Size down in pink top, wearing a medium
This dress is the perfect go to for my traveling gals. It is universally flattering, means it would work on all body types.
Wearing a Large
Wanted to showcase the top tied three different ways. Wearing it in a medium
Love Versatility! This skirt was ultra comfortable, comes in 3 colors and is on sale! Wearing a size 12
The cardigan is a beautiful dusty light blue which goes great with allll the colors 😉 Wearing a small, wanted a medium but they did not have it in store, but definitely size down, the fabric will grow.
The black dress is sold out online, but any sheath dress will do, but this blazer is DYNAMITE! I certainly do not feel like I am wearing a under $200 blazer. Love that! Did not get a good pic in this other dress but loved it! Wanted to feature for y’all. Wearing a 10 in the blazer and a 12 in the dress ( I always size up because of my chest in Ann Taylor dresses)
LOVE this top! Great addition to the black and white version from WHBM. Wearing a medium and showed you below how to take it casual. The skirts were both ultra flattering and had an office flirty-fun flare. Wearing a 10 in both skirts.
Sale Score of the Day!! These pants are adorable and on major sale!! Would be a great alternative for casual denim Friday! Wearing an 8 but needed a 10. These were a little snug in my bum.
