So you want your booty to smile?
There is in fact a science behind your behind. HA like what we did there. Denim has made its self welcome in many more environments that go beyond the weekend itinerary. Yet there are right and wrong ways to do denim. Denim pocket placement should be just as important to you as the wash. We have been hearing about the 360 cut at GAP, but when we stopped a few gals on the street on separate occasions to ask where they got their denim from and we kept hearing GAP, we knew we had to go check them out for ourselves. While we were there we went ahead and took the liberty of trying on a few of their other featured cuts. Read our professional opinion and see what works best to make your booty smile.
How to know if your booty is smiling? Does the placement of the pockets widen the appearance of your bum? Do the placement of your pockets lift or lower the appearance of the cheek? Pockets that are closer together are better.
Mid Rise Super Slimming
A fan of the washes and the concept, but if you have calves do not even try these on. The fabric was soft, but super slimming translated into not much stretch. There is a curvy version which we would have been interested in to try, but it was not available in store.
This cut is for you if… You have some softness around your stomach and upper thigh area and want to be held in, but your overall bone structure is straight.
Mid Rise Sculpt
If you are wanting the hugging while also a curvy gal these are for you. They fit over the curves and the denim held us in. If you are very sensitive about your denim fabrics, these were the ‘toughest’ fabric we tried on. Fit true to size and definitely held you sucked in.
This cut is for you if…. You are curvy and looking to be held in all day.
5 Pocket True Skinny
The 5 pocket trend is one of the best in the denim world swirling around currently. If you carry any weight in your mid section, unfortunately do not even try. Trust Us. It draws so much attention to the area you would want the least attention on. If you are loud and proud of those curves and want to rock this trend any way, YOU GO GIRL! However we do recommend going up a size to avoid any pulling wardrobe malfunction. On this particular pair we did especially love the rugged raw edge ankle hems.
This cut is for you if….. You enjoy rocking the latest denim trend. Recommend for those who carry weight in the hips and thighs, not lower stomach.
360 True Skinny
The denim that lured us in from off the street. The washes are brilliant. They seem to fit all body types beautifully. We will however admit we did not purchase because we felt we were in between sizes and tried on one client who was also in between sizes. The denim fabric is more of a raw denim feel which gave the washes a clean finish. When we had the 360 on we felt it was most likely an accurate representation of what the original GAP denim would encompass.
This denim is for you if…. You want an authentic, good looking denim. Order your normal size and one size up. They can be returned in the store.
Mid Rise True Skinny Curvy
This is the pair we purchased. It was the first pair we tried on and DAMN was our booty smiling! We paid almost $200 for our last pair of black jeans and online these babies are $50. Semi annoyed we paid full price in store. They fit all of our curves in the right places. The fabric is ultra soft. This is not going to hug you in. These babes are comfy.
This denim is for you if… You have curves, ORDER THEM.
