In correspondence with our latest YouTube video we would like to discuss our first of the year purchases. In our video you will see what started as a hunt to fill in our gaps, quickly turned into a store review. We popped into four stores, tried some things on and provided you with shopping details and our thoughts. A great statement jacket that you can wear back with a sexy dress for cocktails with the ladies or denim for a date night is a category we can never have too much of. We are actually replacing this item and potentially adding a couple extras. A statement layer has become our favorite way to make our style heard.
Growing up in the 90s cotton tanks in alllllll the colors was basically a necessity, but now that I am oh so mature, the cotton has translated into sexy fabrics to be worn solo dripping in jewelry, under a cashmere sweater or with a jacket. Neutrals are the best way to go and this is a wardrobe necessity.
Do not give up on the jumpsuit. Too often people tell me my torso is too long, or they just don’t fit me…. QUITER! There is a jumpsuit for everyone. It just may be playing hard to get, but trust us once you meet you’ll be a match made in outfit repeat heaven!
Leather is a friend of our fashionista heart, yet not quite a friend of our pocket book. Waxed leather has been floating around for the past couple years and we are really happy to be replacing the styles this year. Added bonus, they are more breathable than proper leather and can generally be washed inside out on cold.
Ahh yes, January means we actually have to go back in the office and get things accomplished. Skirts with movement are a subtle way to comand the room when you turn that office into your runway. Hey someone has to be the best dressed around there.
Back in the 70s when they went live with denim for day wear, I bet they never dreamed of all that would be done with denim. Fast forward to 2018 and anything goes. I was wearing my pair at a family friends farm and they told me I looked like I had been caught in the tractor. WHATTTEEVERRRR It is Fashion. Have fun with your denim and rock a flirty cropped style.
Shoes. They always fit. They can quickly elevate. They 100% can make or break an outfit. This season treat yourself to something saucy to make a statement with all the smart investment pieces you are purchasing in complimentary colors of each other. Let your shoe wardrobe POP this year!
I am really struggling to stay away from the piercing trend. I feel like I am cool enough, yet then I actually think about it and am like oh yeah remember that bellybutton ring hole I hate…. I defiantly do not want a similar pattern dancing up my ear. I also know my taste and I am not in a mental place to drop $300 on my ear lopes at the moment. I do however highly encourage the gold statement earring which has been making me feel equally as cool!
